7 Steps How to Stop Unhappiness

Perhaps you have days that you feel like every time you try hard, climbing the ladder getting closer to reach your goal, an event of some kind occurs that takes away your climb to success. We think we know what we’re doing and where we’re going and how to get there only to realize that at the end of the climb, we still become lost with an unknown direction that we thought would never occur from the beginning.

We then have to start over hoping the next time, we will succeed. It is important to learn what to do to be happy, but learning what to stop doing on our way to greater depths of happiness is too.

Here are 7 steps to be happy:

1.    STOP COMPLAINING (Not Once) ALL THE TIME

Many people who are usually always unhappy are compulsive complainer day after day. They always see the glass half full while passing their complaints to others.

The habit of complaint only makes thing worse and not better. The thing to remember is do not dwell so much on the problem. Try your best to overlook each situation with a better solution.

2.     YOU JUST CANNOT BLAME YOURSELF

Very often at times, we judge ourselves inward when we have guilt. If you did something that you regretted, try to fix it. Learn from your mistake and move on! Once you can, try to create a better tomorrow by not repeating it.

3.    STOP PUTTING THE BLAMING GAME ON THAT OTHER PERSON

Without extra stress we often tend to blame others over a bad experience. Many times we cannot move forward when we’re focusing on who did what, when and why instead of focusing on what we can learn from the lessons surrounded in the experience.

4.    STOP LIVING IN THE PAST

The truth is people who are always unhappy spend too much of their time going back in time bringing up past offenses. When we do that it takes away many missed opportunities experiencing a better “in the now” moment which can be pleasant.

We have to let go of past. It cannot come back. Enjoy life today.

5.    LIVE LIFE OF CONTENTMENT

There are people who sit around in life expecting life to provide for them will spend a lot of frustrated moments waiting for what will rarely even arrive. Not true! Truth is, life does not owe you anything. It, instead, provides.

But it is up to us to use what is made available to try and live a life of contentment.

Once you can let go of the expectation that life owes you anything, everything becomes an opportunity to learn and forgive.

6.    STOP MAKING THINGS WORSE THAN IT REALLY IS

When people go overboard, making things worse than it really is, are often the same who are easily offended. Stop seeing offense in everything you may not like from your point-of-view. We need to accept people as they are. No one is perfect!

7.    # 1 – STOP WORRYING ALL THE TIME

Some people live constantly with fear and anxiety. They doubt that life can bring them true joy.

Learn to live your life one day at a time. Tomorrow is an unknown but you can always prepare to make it better. Believe in yourself. It is smart to take precautions, but not out of fear that something terrible will happen tomorrow, but out of respect for your health and state-of-mind.

When we feel overwhelmed, try tackling some of these steps one at a time. Through time, when you feel you have made a level of progress, being able to move forward, you can take on the next most relevant obstacle and begin tackling that one. In time, you will feel a new wave gaining a new sense of being happy with yourself in no time. You just need to practice.
